USM Women's Forum, 21st Annual Conference at UMES
PRINCESS ANNE, MD -- (October 16, 2012) – Balancing work and family, conquering conflict and high heels in high places are just some of the sessions available to participants of the 21st annual conference of the University System of Maryland Women’s Forum (USMWF). Sessions will be held Thursday and Friday, November 8 and 9 in the Richard A. Henson Center on the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus.
This year’s conference theme, “EMPOWERMENT,” is an extension of the forum’s mission to enhance the status of women and to encourage and strengthen their participation in all facets of life. Thursday’s pre-conference activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and include action-based stress reduction sessions like ZUMBA. Friday’s sessions will include networking opportunities as well as discussion centered on managing finances through economic turmoil, work-life balance, diversity, understanding communication barriers, and generational facets associated with developing balance between professional and personal lifestyles.
All registrations, at $75 per peron, must be received by Wednesday, October 31; there will be no on-site registration. The registration form is available at http://usmwf.usmd.edu/events.html along with lodging information for out-of-town guests.
