One Maryland One Book
On Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in conjunction with the Maryland Humanities Council and the Somerset Public Library System, the Frederick Douglass Library hosted the One Maryland One Book program called An Afternoon with James McBride, about his new book, Song Yet Song. This book was an important choice to have Mr. McBride discuss as it uses the Eastern Shore of Maryland as a backdrop for this work of historical fiction. James McBride is the New York Times best-selling author of The Color of Water and Miracle at St. Anna, which was made into a movie by director Spike Lee.
