The journals available in the Library are cataloged
in the online catalog. You can
search by title or subject. The titles
are also listed alphabetically in the Title List of Serials and by
subject in the Subject Guide to Serials available at all Library service
desks. These lists will give you the
years for which we have the journal and the call number. Journals are arranged in call number order on
the Lower Level of the Library. The
current issues that are “On Display” are arranged in alphabetical order. “Display”
titles represent only a small portion of the journal collection. Please see the
Serials staff if you have any questions about finding journals in the Library.
The
Library has many books on a variety of medical topics, mostly relating to
classes given at UMES. You can search
the Online Catalog for specific titles or general subjects. Remember the Subject search searches only
subject headings, while the Word search looks at all the words in the entry,
including title, subject headings, and notes.
Books at other University System of Maryland libraries can be ordered
through Intercampus Loans, either using the paper forms available at the
Circulation Desk or using the Request feature from the Online Catalog. Please see staff at any of
the public desks for help using the online catalog and placing these requests.
