CatalogUSMAI is the new online catalog for the University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI).  This new online catalog was launched Jan 6, 2003.

 

To access the Library Catalog, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open the Library’s homepage (www.umes.edu/fdl)
  2. Click on Library Catalog

 

 

There are several ways to search the online catalog:

 

bulletWord(s) anywhere – words or phrases that appear anywhere in the record
bulletWord(s) in the Title, Author, or Subject fields of the record
bulletTitle beginning with – the first three (3) or four (4) words of the title
bulletAuthor beginning with
bulletSubject beginning with
bulletCall Numbers


To search CatalogUSMAI, follow the steps below:

 

In the search box, enter your search term(s), then click on the ‘search’ button.

Click on the title of the desired record to see the full view.

 

 

NOTE: Click on the title to retrieve the call number and check the availability.

 

 

Availability lists the following:  
 

  1. The Library  "UM Eastern Shore"

  2. Collection - Stacks -- which means it is located in the stacks area of the library (2nd floor)

  3. Call Number - the address of the book on the shelf

  4. General Collection - the item is in the circulating collection (it can be checked out)

  5. Due Date - indicates if the item is available for check out (on shelf)
