Our state-of-the-art classroom gives learners every possible technological advantage in the quest for foreign language proficiency.

The Foreign Language Instructional Center (FLIC) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore represents a partnership with the U.S. Department of Education (Title III) to expand the number of Americans who speak a foreign language, especially those languages deemed critical-need.

Whether you want to study a foreign language for academic, professional or personal enrichment goals, FLIC and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore are ready to help.

"To solve most of the major problems facing our country today—from wiping out terrorism to minimizing global environmental problems to eliminating the scourge of AIDS—will require every young person to learn more about other regions, cultures and languages." – Colin Powell
