The Department of Education is currently accepting resumes for a full-time, nine month, tenure track position. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education; maintain record of scholarly activity; work on accreditation projects; advise students; serve on departmental, university, and regional committees; and seek and secure external funding. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D degree in Special Education or related field required. Ph.D is preferred. Experience teaching special education in the public schools and teaching special education at the university level required. Evidence of scholarly work in field of special education required. Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations; strong planning and conceptual skills; use of instructional technology, and good organization and time management skills required. Expertise in technology, assessment, instructional strategies, inclusive teaching, and behavior management required. Experience working with clinical and field experiences and Professional Development Schools preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Experience with assessment systems and accreditation is highly desirable. Ability to get along with others required. Note: Individuals with degrees outside of the US may be subject to verification.
