The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is currently accepting resumes for a full-time, twelve month, non-tenure track faculty position. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Department Chairman, the Shady Grove Director will be responsible for the day to day operations of the UMES Construction Management Technology Program located at this site. Duties will include but are not limited to teaching Construction Management Technology courses (the number of courses to be determined by the Department Chairman); advising students; developing and implementing a location marketing plan to include participation in career and transfer day activities at local community colleges and high schools in Montgomery and surrounding counties; identifying and supervising of adjunct faculty; coordinating internship and job placement opportunities for UMES students; and preparing and overseeing location budget. Ability to get along with others is required. Performs other related duties as assigned including gaining industry support.
Qualifications: Master's degree required. Ph.D. preferred. Five years of construction management and higher education experience required. Candidate must have knowledge of the construction industry in the Montgomery County area. Prior teaching experience required and candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to get along with others required. Note: Individuals with degrees outside of the US may be subject to verification at the expense of the candidate.
