School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full-time, twelve
month position in the School of Pharmacy. UMES is
located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses.
The School of Pharmacy at UMES is dedicated to developing exemplary
pharmacy professionals and scholars who are committed to patient-centered care,
lifelong learning, discovery, and service for diverse communities of the
Delmarva Peninsula, the State of Maryland, and around the world. Faculty are

Salisbury, Maryland. The Doctor of Pharmacy program
is accredited by ACPE.
Responsibilities: Coordinate and
manage the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department including: assign and manage
teaching responsibility; recruit and hire new faculty; mentor and develop
faculty; conduct faculty performance evaluations; coordinate routine Department
meetings; appoint committees; oversee Departmental budget; participate in
team-taught courses in area of expertise; and facilitate expansion of research
infrastructure and extramural funding and the implementation of a graduate
program. Serve on School and University committees. Participate in regional
and/or national professional organizations. Performs other related duties as assigned
by the Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D. or Pharm.D.)
in Pharmaceutical Sciences with teaching, research, and administrative
experience required. Experience in
graduate education preferred. Additional consideration will be given to
candidates with a pharmacy background. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills required. Demonstration of teaching excellence including
student engagement in the learning process required. A sustained record of
scholarly activity required. Leadership and management experiences sufficient
to run the Department are required.
