University of Maryland Eastern Shore is currently accepting resumes for a full-time, nine month, tenure-track position in fashion
merchandising/apparel studies/fashion design The position is available Fall,2014.

undergraduate courses in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel and Design; participate
in departmental, campus and professional activities; advise and mentor
students; engage in scholarly activities including grantsmanship and research;
participate in recruitment activities; and develop new innovative courses and
assist in enhancing current curriculum. Performs other related duties as
assigned by Department Chair.
doctorate in Fashion Merchandising, Retailing Management, Apparel Product
Development, Apparel Design or closely related field required. Master’s Degree
in one of the above areas is required. Experience working in the retail industry/apparel
industry required. Minimum of two years teaching undergraduate level, including
Blackboard or other online delivery platform required. Experience with apparel,
design, and design industry required. Connections with business and industry
required. Must have effective oral and written communication and interpersonal
skills; and organizational and time management skills. Computer and technology
skills relevant to position required.
Department: The Department offers a bachelor’s degree in
Human Ecology with concentrations in the following areas: Child Development, Family
and Consumer Sciences, Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Education, Nutrition,
Dietetics and Fashion Merchandising. The department also offers a dual degree
with the Fashion Institute of Technology, a certificate in Family Financial
Planning and a post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship. Both our DPD and DI
programs are accredited by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and
Dietetics (ACEND). There are eleven
full-time faculty members and approximately 200 undergraduate students in the
