Department of Physical Therapy
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites resumes for a full-time,
twelve-month position for its Physical Therapy Department. The coordinator
works under the supervision of the Department Chair of Physical Therapy. The coordinator facilitates the attainment of
student admission and retention goals for the Department of Physical Therapy.
Responsibilities: Manages the communication flow with
applicants in a timely and effective manner and provides consistent contact to all
applicants via the application database, e-mail, phone, and/or mail from
initial application submission through the admission decision; manages and
updates the centralized application database and communicates with the graduate studies office
regarding application processes; responds to inquiries regarding status of applications;
maintains admission statistics and produces timely reports for the Chair of the
Physical Therapy Department; responds to incoming calls in reference to
admissions questions and requests for information; assists in greeting guests
and walk-in visitors; provides tours of the department as needed; maintains and
updates all recruiting materials; assists in departmental recruitment efforts
including the annual departmental Open House; maintains appropriate
communication with representatives from the Physical Therapy Centralized
Application Service and processes requests as needed; calculates grade point
averages for prospective applicants; and schedules interviews with faculty
members. Performs other related duties
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in
higher education admissions is preferred. Working knowledge of and experience
with computer hardware, software, and integrated database applications is required.
The applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational, self-motivation, accountability, assessment, and data
management skills are also essential. The ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators,
faculty, and the general public is required.
