The DelMarVa Peninsula is composed of the states of Delaware,
and portions of Maryland and Virginia. Affectionately referred
to as the "Eastern Shore," it has a rich history in the founding
and formation of our country, and a unique heritage that is both
revered and reflected in the present. The University of
Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is situation in the heart of this
beautiful area.
While removed from the busyness of the metropolitans of
Washington, D. C., Baltimore, and the Tidewater region, it is
nevertheless accessible to these locations within several
hours. Contrasted with this proximity are the local, small, and
relaxed communities that have existed for centuries.
On this page we have highlighted a few of the attractions and
information sources accessible to UMES. We trust this
information will provide an appetizer to explore more of what is
offered on the Eastern Shore as you visit UMES. In the process
you may discover even more of yourself.
