Billy was born in Silver Spring, Maryland in 1969. At the age of 10, Billy’s family moved to Kent Island on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Billy’s father introduced him to the game of golf when he was 13. Billy then started his golf career at 15 when he started working as a cart attendant at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, MD. After graduating from Queen Anne’s County High School in 1987, Billy made the decision to attend Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC where he majored in Communications.
During his years at Winthrop, he made the decision to enter the golf industry on a full time basis. He started the Professional Golfers’ Association of America education program in 1991 while employed at Jamestown Park Golf Course in Jamestown, NC. In March of 1994 he was elected to PGA membership and became the Head Golf Professional at Santee National Golf Club in Santee, SC. During his time in Santee, Billy married and started his family. After eight years in Santee, Billy moved his young family to Columbia, SC where he accepted the Head Professional position at LinRick Golf Course.
Billy decided to advance his career and entered graduate school at Southern Wesleyan University where he completed a Master’s of Science in Management. In 2006, along with his Head Professional duties, he coached the men’s and women’s golf teams at Allen University, an HBCU in Columbia. Billy’s educational and working experience made it possible for him to join the University of Maryland Eastern Shore as the Director of the newly accredited and 20th PGA Golf Management Program. In October of 2008, Billy earned his professional certification as a Certified Hospitality Educator through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Billy currently resides in Bishopville, MD with his wife and three children.

Chris Prosser was born in Downers Grove, Illinois. Chris graduated from Campbell University located in Buies Creek, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Professional Golf Management. Chris obtained his PGA “Class A” membership in 2005. Chris started his career in golf working with Rob Hary, Head PGA Professional at Minnesota Valley Country Club. Rob Hary’s golf shop was ranked a Top 100 Golf Shop at a private golf facility.
Following graduation from Campbell University Chris enrolled at Benedictine University located in Lisle, Illinois where he earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship in 2007. Chris has his certification in club, putter, wedge, shaft and ball fitting from Ralph Maltby. In 2009, Chris earned his professional certification as a Certified Hospitality Educator through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Chris, the internship coordinator for UMES, will assume responsibility to include coordination of internships, instruct PGA Golf Management curriculum, recruiting, retention, PGMSA advisement, academic student advisement, and tournament operations.

Latisha Brewington was born in Salisbury, Maryland. She is currently working on her Associate’s Degree and will be graduating in 2009 and continuing her education here at UMES in Business Administration. Latisha has worked in the Administrative Field for over eight years in many fields such as: Architect & Engineering, Manufacturing, & Large Corporations. Latisha is the Administrative Assistant for the PGA Golf Management Program and will be responsible for but not limited to maintaining and satisfying retention and information security, PGA reports, expense reports, departmental budgeting and office management.
