Drug Information Center

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) School of Pharmacy plans to operate a Drug Information Center (DIC).  The goals are of the DIC are to:

  • Respond to drug/medical inquiries from healthcare professionals in the local community to facilitate the delivery of quality patient care.

 

  • Teach students and other health-care providers the skill of efficiently retrieving the literature, critiquing, and evaluating the drug/medical information and accurately communicating (both verbal and written) the response to patients and health-care providers.

 

  • Serve as information resource center for faculty, students, and health-care professionals.

Print and electronic resources will be utilized in providing drug information services.  Electronic resources can be accessed through the Frederick Douglass Library.  The Director of the Drug Information Center is Dr. Miriam Purnell.
