Text Box: Jamaica Day Rescheduled
Jamaica Day, a historic educational and cultural exchange which was originally scheduled for September 23 will be held on October 29 in the Student Services Center on the UMES campus.  This event was postponed due to the hurricanes which struck Jamaica and prevented members of Northern Caribbean University from traveling to UMES.
Jamaica Day will feature a concert  by the NCU Chamber Singers, a presentation by the Jamaica Tourist Board, exhibits by leaders in the Jamaican hospitality sector and exhibits by the Tourist Board, Jamaican National Building Society, Air Jamaica, Sandals Hotel, Beach Life Vacations, Jablum Coffee Factory, Northern Caribbean University and Golden Crust.  Exhibits will be open to he public.  Door prizes and other giveaways will be available after 12:30 p.m.

Text Box: The Office also works in close association wit the UMES National Alumni Association in planning Homecoming activities, class reunions, increasing membership, student recruitment and legislative cultivation.  The OAA operates as support to the Office of Development assuming the duties of cultivating and soliciting alumni gifts for the Annual Fund, capital campaigns, planned giving and other giving programs.

The Office of Alumni Affairs serves as the liaison between the University and its graduates. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore considers its graduates to be more than just alumni, they are family.  As part of the family, the doors are always open to alumni for visits, recommendations and support. 
The Office of Alumni Affairs has the chief responsibility of maintaining the alumni database and communicating campus activities and news.
