The African Students Association (ASA) is a dynamic group of students, mostly Africans, who undertake various activities including talks and cultural events with the goal of promoting awareness of the rich African culture and people. We hope to use this site to further our goals by providing interesting content on the African continent and people, as well as our provide information on our events.
The Mission of ASA is to help in molding the young men and women of ASA into tomorrows Scholars, Leaders and Achievers. To see that ASA operates at its maximum capacity and that this organization is conducive to Learning and Success.
Established in 1999, the University of Maryland Easternshores African Students Association (ASA) is an all-inclusive organization that strives to raise the profile and awareness of Africa as a viable business and leisure destination within and beyond the Princess-Anne community. ASA welcomes membership from all students with an interest in Africa.
The organization is dedicated to:
- Increasing the awareness of African issues at UMES
- Providing career and leadership opportunities to its members
- Promoting business in Africa
- Strengthening ties between students, alumni, and African business professionals
