Minutes
of ASME Student Section Meeting
Attendance:
Lee Long, Andrew Grizzle, Derek Cooper, Theophilus Somoye, Aivise Udiani, Ronald Whiting, LiAundra
Calhoun, and advisor Payam Matin were in attendance.
Approval
of Minutes: Minutes of all previous meetings were approved without any changes.
Chair
and Other Executive Council Members: The issue of the appointment of the Chair
and Other Executive Council Members was brought up. A vote was taken and the
attending Vice Chair, Derek Cooper was voted to assume the position of chair.
It was decided that the other positions would be voted on during our next
meeting time.
ASME
Model Design Competition Project: The members have decided to put forward the
time and effort to compete in the 2009 ASME design competition. Design meeting
times have been decided and designs will be proposed at the next meeting. Dr.
Matin and Lee will be looking up the dates and registration information for the
project.
ASME
Membership: Lee mentioned that all those that wished to take part in the
competition would need to become members. It was decided to help the needed
members with this at the next meeting.

- Approve Robot Competition Designs
- Election/appointment of some
executive council member(s) for open positions.
