MINUTES OF ASME STUDENT SECTION MEETING

November 5, 2002

The meeting began at 11:00a.m. Nnenna Ofurum, Denis Amisial, Akil Calwood, Theresa Moody and Dr. Yilmaz were present.

Denis and Nnenna gave information about the RSLS conference they have recently attended at Split Rock, PA. Both said that they were happy to attend the conference and learned a lot. Aron Bennett has also attended the conference.

Status of Constitution was discussed. Nnenna informed that Isabella (secretary) has the constitution. Executive council members have agreed that they should meet on Nov. 12 to discuss and make changes on the constitution. The goal is to make ASME an official UMES organization by registering the organization at UMES by the end of this semester.

Executive council decided to meet every other week starting on Nov. 12, 2003. Some of these meetings will be full membership meetings. Members are encouraged to attend executive council meetings also.

Fund raising issues were discussed. Suggestions for fundraising were: Car wash and Bake sale. It was decided that bake sale will be organized during this semester and car wash during next semester.

The meeting ended at about 12:15p.m.
