Auxiliary
Enterprises is composed of five units – Auxiliary Services, Student Security,
University Dining Services, Richard A. Henson Center and the UMES Post Office.
MISSION:
Consistent with the University’s mission, Auxiliary Enterprises exists to
enhance and support the institution’s
learning, inquiry, and engagement goals. The unit further seeks to
provide these services to the campus community in the most effective and
efficient manner. Services include: Student Dining, Catering, Snack Bar,
Faculty & Staff Dining, Concessions, Mail Service, Hotel Accommodations,
Conferencing, Laundry, Bookstore, Greyhound Bus Service, Student ID Cards,
Phone Services, Vending, and Student Security. We strive to provide
EXCELLENCE in the delivery of goods and services to our customers.

Customer Service:
Customer
service is an important element of any organization. Administrative Affairs
is committed to providing quality service to our customers. This
involves the monitoring of individuals receiving the service (customer),
and individuals responsible for rendering the services (department).
Our goal is to ensure customer satisfaction. The level of customer
service will be tracked through measurable objectives.
Leadership:
Effective
leadership is key to any organization. Administrative Affairs will play an
active role in developing leadership skills and standards to achieve our goal
by providing each department with training and staff development for employees
and managers. The level of leadership will be tracked through measurable
objectives.
Goods
and Services:
The
existence of any operation relies on quality goods and services.
Administrative Affairs will strive to ensure that customers genuinely feel
that they have received an equal exchange of goods and/or services for the
monetary value placed on contracted services. The quality of goods and
services will be tracked through measurable objectives.
