To the Members of the UMES Community –

Please be aware that the Board of Examiners from the NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR ACCREDITATION OF TEACHER EDUCATION (NCATE) will be reviewing all Professional Education Unit Programs at UMES beginning Saturday, November 1st through Wednesday, November 5th, 2003, along with representatives from the MARYLAND STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (MSDE).

At this time our Professional Education Unit Programs will be reviewed for Initial Accreditation by NCATE and continued state approval by MSDE.

We appreciate your continued support and encouragement for this review. Each of you has a stake in this visit because the development of our candidates are impacted by all members of the UMES family. Thank you in advance for all that you will continue to do to ensure our success in this process.
