Who can borrow?
UMES ILL will lend to most libraries in the United States.

What can be borrowed?
Any circulating item. This excludes reference, audio/visual, microfilm, and special collections. Most of our theses and dissertations are part of special collections, but if we have a second copy we will lend.

What can be copied?
Our limit is 50 pages.  We can scan color plates for delivery via PDF email.

Fees
We charge reciprocally. In other words, we charge you what you’d charge us. We prefer not to charge, and are happy to consider reciprocal agreements. We prefer IFM billing, but will invoice with the item.  We are members of LVIS.

Methods of Request
We accept OCLC requests and ALA forms by mail, fax, or Ariel. We will accept email requests if all the standard information is included (see Draft Document: IFLA Guidelines for Sending ILL Requests by Email).

Methods of Delivery
We send most of our lending out by Ariel, MILO (Maryland state courier system), or US Mail.  We can email PDF versions of article (including color scans) or post to our Prospero Web Server.  We will fax rush photocopies on request.  Arrangements can be made to send rush books by FedEx on your account.
