UCC, established in 1962, has an enrollment of nearly 12,000 students.  It is recognized in Africa and abroad for its critical role in training graduate teachers for second cycle institutions, Teacher Training Colleges and Technical Institutions. UCC’s original mission has been expanded to include various programs, ranging from Primary Education, Agriculture and Basic Sciences, to programs in the Arts and Social Sciences, including Population and Family Life Education as well as Geography and Tourism.

KNUST, established in 1961, is a globally recognized center of excellence in Africa and has a student population of approximately 13,000.  Its mission is to provide a supportive environment for teaching, research, and entrepreneurship training in science and technology.
