The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is the lead institution of the LMRCSC.  It offers undergraduate degrees in marine science, environmental science, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science, an MS in Natural Resource Management, and MS and PhD degrees in Marine Estuarine Environmental Science and toxicology.

Facilities

 

Research facilities at UMES include an Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, an Aquaculture Laboratory, an Aquatic Research Facility, and a Molecular Technology Facility.

Construction has begun on the Coastal Ecology Research and Teaching Laboratory at Assateague Island (Maryland).  This is a 8000 square foot building to be fitted with running seawater and facilities for maintaining marine organisms and on-site research.  This facility is to serve as a field laboratory for the marine science program of UMES and the LMRCSC.

 The University has access to four small (16 and 25 ft) craft  for research and training in the inland waterways of Maryland.
