Program Overview
The department of Physical Education/Exercise Science’s academic programs prepare students for:
- Athletic Training certification
- Graduate study in Exercise Science
- Physical Therapy programs
- Physician Assistant programs
- Nursing programs
- Medical School
- Certifications in Fitness, Health promotion, and Rehabilitation Clinics
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is ideally located on the beautiful and serene Eastern Shore of Maryland (UMES) providing a minimum number of distractions for students. Hence, students are able to devote an optimum quality of time directly towards studying and ultimately learning.
Concurrently, UMES enjoys close proximity to a vast number of professional organizations that provides excellent professional opportunities for students to participate in direct practical experience and to complement their academic experiences.
Therefore, Exercise Science majors have many opportunities to participate in on and off campus seminars, workshops and conferences and clinics conducted at the local, regional and national levels.
