HVAC, and Plumbing division is responsible for meeting all the mechanical maintenance needs of UMES. This encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including the heating, air conditioning, plumbing and fire protection services on campus.

The heating and air conditioning section (HVAC) maintains all the heating and air conditioning equipment for the campus. We are also responsible for the preventive maintenance and energy management program of the campus. Additionally, we maintain the fire protection system, the kitchen equipment like dishwashers, ice machines, stoves and kettles, refrigerators and freezers, as well as swimming pool equipment for proper operation. The staff currently consists of three HVAC mechanics and two maintenance mechanics.

The plumbing section maintains all the water, sewer and other plumbing fixtures on campus including drinking fountains.

Electrical

The Electrical section maintains all the high voltage equipment on campus, the campus outdoor and indoor lighting, fire alarm system as well as all low voltage equipment. This section provides services for the installation of new equipment when required and also offer underground utility location services. The electrical maintenance staff consists of a high voltage electrician and a general electrician.

The Electrical section is also responsible for setting up the sound and light systems for special events and perform maintenance and repairs in this area. 

The electrical and HVAC staff also provide on-call emergency services.
