EDUCATIONAL FEATURES

The Pre-Service Teacher Conference (PSTC) is held each spring in the Greater Washington, DC area and hosts several hundred prospective elementary and middle school teachers and their faculty advisors from member institutions representing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and select majority institutions.

Students and faculty are exposed to invigorating general sessions and hands-on workshops, and they participate in a judged poster session. The PSTC includes a Career Fair where students have the opportunity to interview with recruiters from school districts and graduate schools from across the country. Many networking opportunities are provided for the pre-service teachers and faculty to share and exchange their learning. As an important extension of the conference, the pre-service teachers are able to apply for the limited spaces available at the Pre-Service Teacher Institutes held in the summer in conjunction with various NASA sites across the country.
