How do I get in Med School?

Your Odds: 

approximately 1400 applicants to each school (not the same applicants to every school);

                        400 selected for interview (packages are almost identical),

                        140 selected as freshmen (only 1 from out of state at state schools). 

Requirements How do I do that?
1.  Minimum Qualifications:  
        Science GPA:      3.6

This requires strong study habits, hard work,  and dedication.     To make "A" in all your subjects:

          READ your TEXTBOOK and STUDY every DAY

           Read your text books for fun!

        MCAT Scores:    29 Know everything taught to you since freshman year Day 1
   
2. Recommendation Letters:  
        Physician Shadow a physician
        Premed Advisor Join and participate in the Pre-Professional Society
        Personal Reference or Faculty

Keep the respect of your faculty:

      through hard work and good grades

      evidence of strong study habits

      being timely with assignments

      keep current with the journals in their field

   
3.  Evidence of Desire to Practice Medicine  
        Get Clinical Experience  
        Volunteer or Shadow a Physician  
        Work in a Health Profession  
        Read the Current Medical Journals  
   
 4.  Develop and Practice Interview Skills  
        Be an Extrovert  
        Show Excitement  
        Emanate Knowledge and Mastery of Subjects Refer to GPA, MCAT and Recommendation Letters
        Demonstrate Dedication and Maturity ditto all above
