The Office of Student Activities is to provide and coordinate opportunities for students to enhance their leadership skills and talents throughout the University and surrounding community through:

Education

Develop and employ strategies for increasing retention by supporting the mission of the University.

Culture

Promoting interaction and unity among the many diverse groups within the University community by implementing cultural events and activities.

Social Programming

Coordinate and develop programs to assist students in all social endeavors. Encourage students to participate in community service opportunities and demonstrate school spirit.

Employment

Provinding enhancement and training for Para-professionals upon graduation, in addition to demonstrating supervisory skills for Para-professionals.

Recreation

To promote the intramural/recreational sports program throughout the UMES community, by building sportsmanship and promoting free play.

Services/Faculty

Providing a well equipped technological facility for students' personal, professional and social needs, along with providing quality services and accurate information for the University and outside community.
