We live in a highly technological society. Therefore, it is important
for all of us to be able to interact with and control technology;
to assess the impacts of technology on everyday life and make appropriate
decisions; and to apply knowledge, skills and ingenuity to solve
problems with technology. All together, these competencies are often
referred to as “technological literacy”.
The
mission of Technology Education is to develop technological literacy,
not just the ability to use computers.
Accomplishing
the mission of Technology Education results in each person becoming
an effective producer, consumer and political participant in our
highly technological world.
