
Technology Education teachers receive the same university training
and teacher licensing as teachers in other core subjects. Additionally,
they take specialized courses in technology subjects.
Technology
Education teachers usually:
1.
Earn a 4-year bachelor’s degree*
in Technology Education. This includes courses in which
you:

Learn about technologies and technology systems;
-
Have practice teaching experience;
-
Learn the scientific foundations for teaching, learning and student
maturation;
-
Learn the techniques, methods and strategies for teaching and
working with students; and
- Learn
ways to measure and evaluate student achievement and progress
2.
Demonstrate knowledge and skill through testing in the
areas of:
-
language arts, math and science by the beginning of the junior
year**;
-
scientific foundations of education by the end of college**; and
-
technology as subject matter by the end of college.
* There
are alternatives if you already have a bachelor’s degree.
** Required for all teaching fields
