    Dear New Student,

    Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES)!

    We are pleased that you are joining us and we are here to assist you in your study abroad plans and cross-cultural experience at your university. You have chosen the best place for an all-around great academic, professional, and personal experience! We pride ourselves on being a unique and diverse campus family, and to that end are looking out for your well-being while you are studying at UMES. Our resources include student services such as these listed below and so much more!

    • The Writing Center-assistance to provide you with writing, revising, and editing skills.
    • Center for Access and Academic Success-CAAS for tutoring, mentoring and coaches.
    • The Health Center - a resource to help students achieve and maintain wellness convenient, affordable and accessible with a pleasant, professional atmosphere
    • UMES Counseling services - to address individual, group and couples counseling, pyschiatric and referral services and consultation.

      There are also plenty of opportunities to explore Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore while you are at UMES. We are within three hours of Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Virginia Beach. We are one hour away from the seaside of Ocean City. The campus is 15 minutes from Salisbury for shopping and recreational activities.
