Application Status

  • Although students can apply for financial aid throughout the year, some financial aid programs have limited funding and are awarded on a first-come first-served basis.  Therefore, it is important that you submit your 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after October 1, 2017.  The filing deadline for priority consideration is January 15, 2018. When completing the FAFSA, the UMES OSFA recommends that you use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your tax information directly from the IRS onto your FAFSA.

You may track the status of your financial aid application and loan document status on MyUMES.  MyUMES will indicate if the Office of Student Financial Aid has received the information from your FAFSA and if you have completed all required documents/items. When in MyUMES, make sure you select the correct session in the upper right corner when viewing each page, i.e. Fall 2017, Fall 2018.

    Check MyUMES

Log into MyUMES and click on Financial Aid & Billing at the top of the page to check the status of your financial aid application, view your financial aid award and/or ensure all documents have been completed for your financial aid to be disbursed.
