    2:00pm -2:10pm:                             Welcome, Dean

    2:10pm -2:45pm:                             Presentation: Important Graduate School Policies and Processes

    2:45pm – 3:45pm:                           Panel Discussion/ Question & Answer Session on Graduate Education at UMES and Steps to the Degree.

                                                                         UMES Dean of Graduate School, faculty, current students and past students will discuss graduate student life at                                                                                                        UMES, the process and time frame for completing a graduate degree and will offer advice related to workload expectations,                                                                              responsibilities of graduate students, networking, research/creative expectations, publishing etc.  The discussion will also                                                                                  include a dialog of developing positive relationships with students’ major professors/advisors, committee, and departmental                                                                            and university staff.

    3:45 pm – 4:30 pm                             Meet and Greet and Informational Fair

                                                                         New students, returning students, faculty and staff will get to meet and greet each other. There will also be                                                                                                                   information available on Financial Aid, Graduate Student Government (GSG), International Graduate Student                                                                                                           Association (IGSA), Student Accounts,  International Affairs Office (F1 visa, Travel restrictions, OPT, study                                                                                                                      abroad opportunities), Disability Services, Counseling Services, Career Services (Help with resume, job search,                                                                                                            cover letter) and the Library.

    3:45 pm – 4:30 pm                             Registration and Enrollment Assistance

                                                                         Program Directors and Advisors will be on hand to provide assistance with registration and enrolling in classes.                                                                                                       There will be computers available so that students may be walked through all processes.

    3:45 pm – 4:30 pm                             Ice Cream Social

                                                                        The School of Graduate Studies will offer some ice cream and light refreshments to provide further opportunities for students                                                                         to mingle, learn about the area and meet other graduate students.
