• For Engineering Students

The Engineering Program in the Department of Engineering and Aviation Sciences is interested in identifying two student tutors in the fall (Undergraduate Seniors or Graduate Students) with appropriate background. They will be supported through a grant from Maryland Space Grant for which Dr. Nagchaudhuri serves as the Principal Investigator.

One of the tutors will be involved with tutoring and serving as a teaching assistant for courses in Computational Methods, Instrumentation, and Thermodynamics. The other will be available to support engineering students in bottle neck courses such as Statics, Basic Electricity, Differential Equations Etc.

The tutors will be supported at hourly rates approved by the University and will need to be available in a specified location for at least 10 hours/week. They can also participate in resume enhancing ongoing project activities for additional time.

Engineering seniors who have taken the courses mentioned above and have received a grade of “A” or “B” in these courses and have an overall GPA above 3.0 are encouraged to meet with Professor Nagchaudhuri (X6479) or Mr. Julius Ejenavi (x 8095 , email : joejenavi@umes.edu) as soon as possible.

Application: Students must complete a student application in the Department of Human Resources located on the 1st Floor of Bird Hall in order to be considered for the position.
