Tedra2Ms. Tedra Booker, LMRCSC Ph.D. student won the University of Maryland Eastern Shore inaugural 3MT® Competition ( Three Minute Thesis Competition) on Tuesday November 26, 2013. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland, Australia. The exercise challenges students to present their thesis/dissertation topic and its significance in just three minutes! 3MT® develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of students' capacity to explain their research effectively in lay terms.

Ms. Booker will be travelling to San Antonio, Texas to participate in the Regional Competition consisting of students from the Council of Southern Graduate Schools in February 2014.

1st Runner Up: Ms. Kristen Lycett, CREST M.S. Candidate in Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences.
Ms. Lycett will receive a $500 scholarship towards research expenses.
