Spring Gourmet Luncheon Series hosted by UMES HRM students
PRINCESS ANNE, Md.-(Feb. 8, 2011)Tickets are now on sale for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hotel and Restaurant Management Department’s Spring Gourmet Luncheon Series.
The lunches feature an appetizer, entrée and dessert prepared by the students and faculty of the university’s HRM Program.
“Our students gain valuable food preparation laboratory experience through participation in events such as the luncheons and the upcoming gala,” said Dr. Ernest Boger, chair of the HRM Program at UMES. “The lunches are a collaboration between two classes—the first year students for table service and the second year students for food production.”
Lunches are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in February, except Feb. 28. There are three lunches in March (March 14, 16 and 18), three lunches in April (April 25, 27 and 29) and the final luncheon of the semester on May 6. Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased in person only, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Richard A. Henson Center, room 2100 until tickets are sold out. Check or money order made payable to UMES. No cash accepted. The lunches will be held at noon in the Richard A. Henson Center Bailey Thomas Room 1121.
