The Honorable Frank and Mrs. Melissa White are loyal friends of the university and have gifted its administration, faculty and students with their time, talent and assets.  The Bailey White Jewelers Sportsmanship Award was established in 2005 for the purpose of recognizing and rewarding sportsmanlike behavior in Hawk athletes on and off the playing field.

"We are part of the community, we have a business in Princess Anne and we are a neighbor to UMES," said Princess Anne Town Commissioner White.  "We want to always support the university, which is a big part of the community, and we encourage other businesses to take part in advancing the student's education.  They will get to meet great people when they become involved."
