Patrick Henry juries show at UMES

Solitude by Juliana ReaganPRINCESS ANNE, MD - (June 4, 2015)-New to the Mosely Gallery of art this summer is an exhibit featuring selected works by University of Maryland Eastern Shore artists.  The show opens June 11 with a reception from 4-6 p.m. in the Thomas Briggs Arts and Technology building on campus.

What is unique about this show, gallery director Susan Holt said, is that the exhibit highlights the "hidden talents" among the university community not associated with the Department of Fine Arts.  Works, she said, by faculty and staff were selected by area artist and UMES alumnus Patrick Henry of Snow Hill, the juror for the show.

"I can't express enough how pleased I was with the quality of the entries," Henry said.  "The associates are to be commended for their creative expressions while having so many other obligations."

Participating artists are:  Nina Bennett, Monisha Das, Veronique Diriker, Marie Green, Jamila Johnson, Kristen Lycett, Juliana Reagan, Donna Satterlee, Josh Shockley and Mark Williams.  Media represented includes paintings, photography, metalwork, ceramics and sculpture.

The exhibit runs through August 13.  Summer hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Mosely Gallery is free and open to the public.  Call 410-651-7770 for more information or visit www.moselygallery.com.
