Walter Woods Named UMES Assistant Alumni Director

    PRINCESS ANNE, MD - An alumnus of UMES has been named to the position of Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs. Walter Woods graduated from the University in 1991. 

    "Once a Hawk always a Hawk," said Woods.

    Woods has enjoyed a varied career in government and nonprofit posts. He was most recently the program analyst in the Federal Highway Administration's Universities and Grants Programs. Before that, Woods enjoyed a career in nonprofit management, with the YMCA and YWCA and the Greater Cleveland Area Boy Scouts Council. He holds a Master of Arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix, in Arizona.

    "Walter understands first-hand the value of a UMES education and the benefits of maintaining a long-term relationship with the University," said Alumni Affairs and Planned Giving Director Kimberly Conway Dumpson, Esquire. "His experience in program development will be very beneficial to our division."

    Woods is married to Timeshia and has two daughters, Jessica and Xaniya.  He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
