Wind Ensemble performs Nov. 15 at UMES

    UMES Wind Ensemble

    PRINCESS ANNE, MD-(Nov. 3, 2011)The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Wind Ensemble performs its fall concert on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Ella Fitzgerald Center for the Performing Arts.

    The 30-member instrumental group will be led by Mercury Morris, a UMES alumnus, teacher at Purnell Music Studio of Salisbury and former Somerset County music educator.  The group is comprised of community musicians, alumni and faculty members Brian Perez and Patrick McHenry, along with university music education majors.

    Wind Ensemble arrangements and holiday favorites fill the program. 

    "We are performing pieces from 'Fanfare' and 'Allegro' by Clifton Williams, 'But Joy comes…' by Williams Owens and traditional Christmas music done in an overture style," Morris said.
