UMES Honey Bee Club: Buzzing Along

  • Bee GraphicPRINCESS ANNE, MD - (April 23, 2018) - The next meeting of the UMES Honey Bee Club is slated for Saturday Monday, May 5 May 7, beginning at 3 p.m. on the UMES farm at 10789 Stewart Neck Rd in Princess Anne.

    The three-hour workshop will provide a basic overview of how to install a package of bees that contains one mated queen and a colony of bees that have been collected from an assortment of different hives.  In addition to installing a package of bees, participants will learn how to feed the bees with sugar water and how to provide care and maintenance after installation. Following the workshop, the next tentative queen check is scheduled for Thursday, May 17.
