UMES has been decommissioned by the Maryland Department of the Environment and does not possess authorization for the use, possession, storage, or transfer of radioactive materials. Accordingly, activities involving regulated radioactive materials are not permitted at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">As the University continues to expand its academic, research, and healthcare-related programs, future activities may require the establishment of a Radiation Safety Program and the acquisition of appropriate regulatory authorizations.
