Every member of the campus community plays an important role in minimizing waste generation and ensuring recyclable materials are disposed of properly. UMES participates in the The All StAR (<strong>All<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>St<\/strong>ate\u00a0<strong>A<\/strong>gencies\u00a0<strong>R<\/strong>ecycle) program\u00a0as required by the\u00a0Maryland Recycling Act (MRA), more information can be found here <a href=\"https:\/\/mde.maryland.gov\/programs\/Land\/RecyclingandOperationsprogram\/Pages\/allStar.aspx\">State Agency Recycling<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">EHS office coordinates\u00a0the recycling program as\u00a0part of the campus\u2019 waste management practices.\u00a0Collection of recyclables throughout the campus is accomplished by the Physical Plant, which also provides recycling containers for mixed paper, plastic bottles, and metal cans located throughout campus.
