Her research interests are in lifestyle, exercise, and performance programming. For youth, this includes sport and fitness education and encouraging participation. For adults, this involves implementing evidence-based programs in rural communities and minority populations, with a goal to improve lifestyle-related risk factors and quality of life. Dr. Nastvogel is also interested in improving individuals\u2019 quality of movement through education, screenings, and corrective strategies. Dr. Nastvogel is a former Division I strength and conditioning coach. She volunteers with community recreation sport programs. She also holds several certifications in movement and program design for youth, athletes, and adults, and is currently seeking a specialist certification in training special populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research experiences &amp; Interest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Implementing diverse teaching pedagogies; evaluating physical activity interventions; performing functional movement assessments to support performance programming; engagement with health-promoting activities for youth and adults and using feedback from mobility screenings to plan individualized programs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LaShawn D.
