Cheyenne completed an internship in July 2024 at the Pascagoula Laboratory in Mississippi under the supervision of NOAA Scientist Frank Hernandez. The topic of her summer undergraduate internship research was, \u201cDevelopment of Zooplankton Indices as Ecosystem Indicators for the Gulf of Mexico.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/lmrcsc\/research-themes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Research Theme:<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;Stock Assessment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOAA LMRCSC Fellows attain the NOAA Core Competencies detailed in&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/lmrcsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/101\/2024\/02\/NOAA-Core-competency-rubric.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this rubric<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NERTO Project Title:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Analyzing benthic invertebrate communities at restoration site with nature-based solutions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOAA Mentor:\u00a0<\/strong>Dr. John Jacobs.
