The goal of Motor Pool&nbsp;is to provide the University community with quality,<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>convenient and cost-effective vehicle services.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>University Vehicle Information<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umes.edu\/uploadedFiles\/_WEBSITES\/Physplant\/Content\/procedures%20and%20information%20for%20state%20drivers.doc\">Procedures and Information for Drivers of University Owned Vehicles<\/a><br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SERVICES<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong>Fleet Vehicle Rental<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Motor Pool fleet includes passenger sedans,&nbsp;11- and 15-passenger vans, and Shuttle buses to meet the transportation needs of the University community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vehicle requests may be made by completing the appropriate departmental Leave Request Form, obtaining the appropriate approvals,&nbsp;and submitting it to Administrative Affairs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rental of University owned vehicles&nbsp;is based on first- come first-served basis. A vehicle may be rented for official University&nbsp;business only. The driver of the&nbsp;vehicle&nbsp;must be an employee, student or official volunteer&nbsp;in their department, and cleared through the Motor Vehicle Administration and fleet services. University vehicles are only permitted to be driven within a 500 mile radius of the University.&nbsp;If a vehicle is unavailable, a non- availability form can be requested once you return from your trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unless approved by Administrative Affairs, training to operate 11-&amp; -15 passenger vans is available upon request. Training courses will be conducted as needed and when schedules permit. It is suggested that a size be limited to ten (10) trainees, when possible. Training will consist of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Driving skills, evaluation<\/li><li>Vehicle inspection procedures<\/li><li>Driver checklist sign-off and certification procedures (including the fueling of the vehicle and the cleanliness of it).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong>Fuel Service<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fueling station for University vehicles is located in the Physical Plant fleet yard; only Motor Pool&nbsp;staff are&nbsp;authorized to re-fuel University vehicles for customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong>Vehicle Maintenance \/ Repair<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/umeswebtma.umes.edu:82\/\">Maintenance and Repair Request<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Motor Pool is a full-service vehicle maintenance and repair facility. It performs all preventive maintenance and routine repairs for University vehicles. Work is performed based on manufacturer recommendations and in accordance with State requirements. &nbsp;Services provided include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Oil and Filter Changes<\/li><li>Tire Rotations<\/li><li>Tune-ups<\/li><li>Wiper blade replacement<\/li><li>All types of engine repair<\/li><li>Lubrication<\/li><li>Mandatory Safety Inspections<\/li><li>Department of Transportation (DOT) Inspections<\/li><li>and MORE<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hours of Operations: Monday- Friday, 7:30 am &#8211; 4:00 pm (except University holidays) Phone: (410)651-6677 Fax (410) 651-7918 Motor Pool offers a range of transportation-related services to the University.
