Leslie Wagner serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, providing administrative support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors while helping ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Before joining UMES, Leslie spent many years serving Maryland communities through programs focused on healthy aging, caregiver support, veteran services, homeless services, and chronic disease self-management. Her professional experience includes project management, Medicare counseling, administration of Older Americans Act Title III programs, and the development and delivery of educational resources for older adults, individuals living with chronic conditions, and family caregivers.
Leslie is a Master Trainer in several nationally recognized evidence-based health education programs, including Chronic Disease Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, Chronic Pain Self-Management, and Building Better Caregivers. Through the Maryland Living Well Center of Excellence, she continues to support and lead programs that empower individuals and caregivers to improve health outcomes and quality of life.
She is also a trained leader in Powerful Tools for Caregivers, Savvy Caregiver Fundamentals, and Savvy Caregiver Advanced, helping families develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to care for loved ones living with dementia and other chronic conditions.
After spending most of her life in Carroll County, Maryland, Leslie relocated to Maryland’s Eastern Shore and is proud to be part of the UMES community.
