MATHEMATICS AT UMES

Build the Mathematics Behind AI, Technology, Science, and Innovation

Mathematics for a Data-Driven World

Mathematics is at the foundation of data science, artificial intelligence, finance, scientific computing, engineering, and quantitative research. The B.S. in Mathematics at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore combines rigorous mathematical study with computation, modeling, statistics, and real-world applications. Students build a strong foundation in calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics, differential equations, analysis, and algebra while developing specialized expertise through one of five concentrations. Faculty mentorship, undergraduate research, collaborative projects, and internship opportunities further prepare students for graduate study and careers across industry, government, education, and research.
