Alley cropping for weather variability can help boost farm's profits.

UMES Extension will hold an Alley Cropping and Training Field Day in Caroline County on Friday, Sept. 4.

The field day will feature a site tour to demonstrate fig-based alley cropping for extreme weather variability and high profitability in Federalsburg.

The event will be held from 8-11 a.m. at 26475 Line Road in Federalsburg.

There will also be interactive discussions on the marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables at the demonstration site.

Registration is free, but pre-registration is required.
